Housed in a former Methodist Chapel, just off the A149 coast road in the pretty village of Stiffkey, Stiffkey Antiques (and now the Stiffkey Period Lighting) is a dream find for antique collectors or anyone interested in authentic period interior design.
Given frequent mention in the National Press, Stiffkey Antiques has for some quarter of a century restored and sold genuine antique door furniture, fireplace furniture, hardware fittings, home decoration and more. Browse the bright, beautiful displays and you’ll also find novel and unusual pieces that would become a talking point in any home (authentic Victorian loo paper holder anyone?).
Established some 35 years ago, Stiffkey Period Lighting stocks an enchanting and eclectic assortment of antique and new lighting and lighting fixtures, including lamp fittings and shades. With a focus on the Victorian & Edwardian eras, the Lamp Shop also specialises in the restoration of period lighting.
As if looking around the plethora of beautifully crafted, often rare, objects in this part museum-part boutique shopping experience were not enough, the mezzanine level above the shop will play host to an exhibition of photographic art. Even more reason to enter and explore this glittering emporium located in the most charming, but perhaps one of the unlikeliest of locations.
Open 7 days a week 10am-5pm.
