The Hatfield Hines Gallery in the centre of the pretty Georgian Market Town of Holt is a veritable Aladdin’s Cave for art-lovers seeking modern British art for their own personal collection.
Founded on the leading collection of original modern British Art built up by Judy Hines since 1973, the Gallery is a key destination for sourcing 20th Century British paintings, prints and sculpture. As well as art of all styles produced between 1900 and 1980, the Gallery also holds work by selected contemporary artists such as David Baxter and Gilia Florentin-Lee. Most work is purchased direct from the artists, offering both quality and affordability.
The Gallery is now run in the main by Clare Hatfield, who was inspired to contact Hines over a decade ago after reading about her occupation dealing modern British art all over the world, and thus laying the foundations of their partnership.
With a vast range of stock to browse through at the Gallery itself (including a wide collection of original prints and etchings which can be viewed by appointment prior to them becoming available through the Gallery), it is well worth putting aside a good few hours to explore this petite – but highly-concentrated – treasure trove of art.
The ever-growing website also features hundreds of works by some 50+ artists, enabling you to browse, view and purchase in the comfort of your own home.
Open Tue-Sat 11am-5pm (Thurs 11am-2pm).
