Located in Walsingham, famed for its association with the historic Slipper Chapel and the Holy Mile, Walsingham Farms Shop was established by an innovative partnership between the Walsingham Estate, its tenant farmers and other local producers to deliver a fresh (pun intended!) approach to food shopping.
Celebrating its two year anniversary on 15th June, the Farms Shop exists to offer ‘fair trade’ to Norfolk growers, enabling them to achieve prices which reflect the true value of food, and to allow shoppers to gain direct access to the finest, freshest local produce.
The Farms Shop stocks the best in Norfolk’s fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and salad. You can buy staples such as potatoes, onions and carrots all year round, while the availability of treats such as broad beans and butternut squash is dictated by the seasons (as it should be perhaps?).
Meat is sourced direct from local producers and reared to the highest welfare standards. It is then prepared in-house by the Farms Shop's own butcher and can be cut to your exact requirements. Perfectly matured beef is available alongside pork, lamb, game in season and the Farms Shop’s own sausages and burgers.
Pies, pasties and quiches are baked on the premises, while locally baked cakes are just like Granny used to make. Add to this a fine selection of Norfolk cheeses, smoked fish from the Cley smokehouse, locally brewed beers, wines by Satchells of Burnham Market and so much more that we cannot possibly mention it all here – you’ll just have to see for yourself. Walsingham Farms Shop represents an exciting new direction in food shopping that is achieved by returning to basic principles of quality, service and the support of local producers.
Open Mon-Sat 9am – 6pm, Sun 9am-1pm.
