Dining at Cley Windmill is arguably one of the most memorable and delightful experiences that you can have in Norfolk. Even, perhaps, in life…
Featured in the Good Food Guide 2009, its restaurant is a special place to eat, offering the exceptional combination of a truly unique setting (a stunning early 18th Century windmill on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast) with great quality, traditional fare.
Chefs Adam (formerly of The Anchor in Morston) and Brian (previously at The White Horse, Brancaster) work hard to produce old-fashioned, homemade English country cuisine. Fresh seasonal and local produce features heavily, and as everything is made on-site, pre-notified dietary preferences are easily accommodated.
Dinner at Cley Windmill is a highly enjoyable and friendly affair, making you feel more like an old friend dining in someone’s home than in an ‘official’ establishment.
Upon arrival (from 6.45pm), you are invited to take in the spectacular views from the gallery while enjoying a pre-dinner drink (by the roaring fire in Winter or out on the lawn in the summer months). There is also an Honesty Bar in the circular sitting room.
Food is served at 7.30pm. Each evening there is a new Set Menu of three courses, complimented by candlelight and a good selection of fine wines and soft drinks.
Three course dinner at Cley Windmill costs £32.50, including complimentary tea or coffee to round off your evening. Booking in advance is essential.
Marvelously, Cley Windmill also offers amazing accommodation if you don’t want to drive home after your lovely meal.
Cley Windmill is licensed for civil ceremonies and weddings and the entire windmill can be occupied for the wedding and reception afterward. It is an unforgettable and stunning venue for a small romantic wedding.
