The Owl Tea Rooms

The Owl Tea Rooms in Holt, originally opened in 1929, is lucky enough to carry the name of the town emblem. There are many visual references to owls to be found as you walk around Holt and this stems from a local legend of an owl that disturbed the residents and could not be stopped or chased away.

The bakery shop is stocked daily with fresh bread, cakes, salads and savouries, all made on the premises, which can be enjoyed at home or in the café – either in the beautiful Georgian interior or the delightfully spacious walled tea garden at the back, with table service.

In addition, there is an extensive menu offering breakfast, lunch, ice creams and speciality teas, with daily seasonal specials. On Sunday there is an exciting brunch menu with homemade pancakes, English breakfast and fantastic croissants, as well as more substantial dishes. All the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, the finest available. The coffee comes from the acclaimed Norwich Little Red Roaster and tea from Wilkinson’s of Norwich.
