The rave reviews and awards for The Wiveton Bell include receiving a one star AA rosette in their first six months of trading, being voted Best Food Pub in the 2007 EDP Norfolk Food Awards and 46th in the Top 100 Best Of The Best Pubs In Britain in Eat Out Magazine (‘celebrity Chef’ Marco Pierre White is a judge and the final list will be announced later this spring). When you consider the pedigree of owners Sandy Butcher and Berni Morritt (35 years in the restaurant industry and already running two highly successful restaurants in central Nottingham), it is hardly surprising that The Wiveton Bell offers an extremely high standard of traditional hostelry.
The refreshing superior quality integrates perfectly with traditional values at this 18th Century village pub (situated on the village green and just a short walk or drive from Blakeney). Beamed ceilings, a fireplace with a wood burner and chunky wooden furniture in the bar area give a rustic, homely feel. The light, airy conservatory is perfect for lunchtime or evening dining alike. Using locally sourced produce (there is always a daily fish special), modern global and European dishes such as Chicken Dansak sit alongside classic British staples like Bangers and Mash. There are always appetising options available for vegetarians and The Bells’ homemade puddings are legendary.
