A former smugglers inn, The Anchor Inn Pub and Bar is proud of its strong philosophy of offering traditional British hospitality in the best and truest sense of the word. Good beer and a friendly atmosphere ensure that everyone feels welcome, whether you simply want to sit and warm up with a pint beside the roaring wood burner, or if you are out with a large group celebrating a special occasion by eating in the chic rustically-styled dining area.
Produce is sourced as locally as possible (very locally in the case of the Morston Mussels, which are available when in season and hail fresh from the Quay just yards away) and the dishes are simple and long established, but delicious favourites that will appeal to all. Due to its proximity to the coast, seafood and fish features heavily. However, vegetarians will not be left wanting and Children (‘Little Sailors’ according to the menu) have a selection of their own dishes to choose from. There are daily specials and The Anchor does a fabulous, traditional Sunday lunch.
If you fancy a lighter bite, sandwiches are available, as is afternoon tea with a pot of tea, a slice cake or a fruit scone with clotted cream – lovely.
The bar is open Mon-Sat 1am-11pm.
Food is served 12noon-2.30pm and 6pm-9m (until 9.30pm on Fri and Sat).
Sunday Lunch is served from 12noon-8pm. To view the Sunday lunch menu, please click here (PDF 48KB).
Don’t forget – Temple’s Seal Trip tickets can be purchased from their ticket desk in the lounge of The Anchor.
