The Ship Inn was reopened under a highly experienced and passionate team headed by Terry Rayner and his partner Claire on 1st July 2007. Situated in the heart of the charming North Norfolk village of Weybourne (easily accessible on the A149 coast road) it is a delightful combination of all the best elements of the traditional and the new - perfect for a rest stop if you’re out and about exploring the beautiful surrounding area.
Food at The Ship Inn is modern in style and strongly influenced by the flavours of the North Norfolk coastline. The team at The Ship Inn believe in locally sourcing as much of their ingredients as possible and always keeping one eye on the quality of the dishes available, rather than simply the quantity. The kitchen team has a wealth of experience in all aspects of running a slick food service, with Miguel, former restaurant manager at Wensum Valley’s Miguel’s restaurant, expert chef James Coll and dessert Chef Rebecca Brown, who’s tempting creations border on the heavenly.
Friendly and welcoming (including allowing dogs to accompany their owners in the bar area), The Ship has been habitually included in the Good Beer Guide (and is again in 2008). As with the food, emphasis is placed on featuring the best local brews and The Ship Inn only serves ales that have been brewed within the county. For wine drinkers, The Ship Inn also offers a comprehensive wine selection, with over 30 varieties available either by the glass or by the bottle.
With a wood burner to compliment the warm greeting from the staff, The Ship Inn is the perfect bolthole for chilly days and nights – an Inn with a strong sense of high-quality hospitality that embraces all that is great about Norfolk.
